Why hasn't anyone manufactured rear mount winch bumpers? All those I've seen have been one-offs...

Any pics or tips from those who've built their own?

You can mount up to a 9500lb winch on a Road Armor rear bumper.

Is that swing out, mounts, latch and shackles from a Hummer? If so, which model. That's a very cool setup.

It is off of a hummer. It is from an H2 suv. You can find them used or 100-250 dollars. I had to add 3 1/2 inches to the swingarm to make it fit.

Cool. I did a quick Ebay search and you got a hell of a deal in that price range. I couldn't find one under $400.

Here's the winch bumper that I made for my Xterra. I still have some final, aesthetic touches to add, and then I will bead blast it and give it a good paint job. Then I will grab one of our good camera's (these were with my crappy "garage" camera) and shoot some pics. Going to head out and do some wheeling today, maybe get some pics of it in action.

When designing my own bumper, I remember using this thread to help me plan... so I'm bringing this thread back from the dead... here's mine!

It's based off a Kennesaw Mtn. skeleton, but otherwise fully custom, powdercoated and ready for a receiver winch.
