I like the Rola rack too....they seem less goofy to me than many other racks out there, and I like the low profile design. Price is right to boot.

I say goofy with a great deal of affection - Never had the ol "safari rack" and I am too busy to fab my own right now.
Figured it was time...a great value for what it is. I did however weld it into a 1-piece unit.

The new girl out on her first run. I am terrible at taking photos as I work but she's coming together nicely.

Coming from a 98 Taco, you really notice the size difference on the trail.

Brothers FJ in its element

My brothers rig on our last fishing trip in the Bridgeport, CA area. The picture was taken with my cell phone; certainly not a hardcore wheelin pic but I love the story it tells.

Very nice! It was really cool to see it in person last week. Definitely a proper built truck.

With all that flex have you split your cv boots or did you replace the with high angle? Just replace my passenger cv shaft 2 weeks ago and the inner boot split just on a short trail ride with the kids. high angle cv boots are 50 per side.

I've done pre, 1st, 2nd, and now it's time for a 3rd gen - acquired right at my 20 yr "anniversary" driving Toyotas :)

Nothing much yet, some 265 Duratracs and a goofy rack. TRD/890 parts en route
Some of the rigs here blow my mind - I'll be happy if it comes out half as nice!

I think that's such a nice setup as it is. I love the out-of-the-box abilities of the 3rd gen, and you've got a great platform to build on. I love the Anthracite color (at least it looks it in that pic) and those tires look perfect. You will enjoy a couple of inches from the lift you mentioned, but that will go pretty much anywhere you want as it is. Very nice find, and a great start! Post up again when you get the lift on please!

I am in debate. One of the local credit unions has a '02 4Runner repo'd up for sale. Its got 164k on it but it is very clean. Whoever had the truck only had a couple months. Its white and loaded. They are asking $6k but she said I could pretty much have it for $4k.I had my connections at the local stealership run a Carfax and through the Toyota sysem and everything looked pretty good with only one minor fender bender coming up.

And homemade fishing rod roof carrier.. Used 3.5 inch PVC... Comes in handy when me and the wife have others come along on our fishing trips :)

If it's clean and maintained, that's a steal. An 02 with that miles should easily go for $7000 in most of the country (provided it's 4WD, more if it's a Limited).
