Toyota Fanatic!
I have a mostly stock 92 Toyota pickup short bed with 275x9 bfg mud terrains, a new 2.7 4-banger and a camper shell. I was planning to make a prerunner out of it, but want to make a good, flexy wheeling rig. I cant decide on a bunch of stiff, like the tires, the lift, and whether or not to keep the IFS w/ lockers. I need some help. I want to do this o a budget, and wheel the rubicon before 18th birthday. can you give some suggestions to what i should do?

Its easy to do what you want to do.

SAS using a Toyota 8" axle. Throw some 5.29s w/ lockers in the axles. High steer. & some 35" tires.

You now have a reliable, go anywhere rig. And it will be able to run much harder stuff than the Rubicon.

07 1gr. Iron man icon combo. Iron man performance springs, icon vs shocks. Kelly safari tires. Pretty potent combo. I'm not in to hard core wheeling, just exploring the path less traveled. This truck lets me do it in comfort. Got a few goodies under the hood too.

Sent from my lifted station wagon.

My humble 1989 SR5. Has a bed platform currently under the knife. The wood was rotted on the bench sides.

Not much planned for her except new tires, maintenance, and a CB.

The day I drove her home; I have since replace the galv bars with 58" yakimas. The towers were cleaned and greased. I ground down and painted the mounts for the towers.
