Thanks. Those are Michelin XZLs on 750/16 steel landcruiser rims. After 3 years in Africa they'd worn pretty well but I needed new tyres for the black cotton soil in the Maasai Mara:

Those are great...


Funny, we had a large section of the cattle station I lived on in Australia called the black soil. The earth was really peat like, very soft and squishy. Really chalenging to get the Cruisers through but really fun to drive opver eh Wonder if you're talking about the same kind of stuff over there.

here is my 2001 Tacoma. These pics were taken on a recent trip to Maui one is atop Haleakeala at 10,023 feet and the otheres are on a secluded black sand beach where it is still legal to drive. This vehicle is going to slowly evolve into a more capable explorer.
