Some changes were made while coming home. I installed my TRD charger that I had for 4 years and a month after that I blew up the automatic transmission

So instead of fixing a $900 rear bearing, I converted it to a R150F manual transmission. Before installing the new transmission, I took off the stock headers and replaced them with a used, but modified TRD headers.

Then I installed the flywheel, clutch, & clutch plate

Then install the R150F manual transmission and tcase

Then installing the pedal assembly, clutch master, and finally the wiring

Picked up a GFC Superlite yesterday. I was running a prinsu + 23zero armadillo x2 but didn't like the setup. Sold the lot, tossed thule bars back on for now and bolted a superlite up top. Saved 172lbs roughly which is nice, as I don't notice the weight at all anymore.

I mounted the 23zero on prinsu tent mounts but found the bars flex too much with the heavy tent mounted on just two bars/four mounts. They would make contact with the roof on rough patches of road due to flex. I also didn't like how I removed crossbars for the Thule box to sit nice but then the aluminum side rails would get wavy due to the lack of full outward support from not using all the crossbars. This mixed with reading the side rails can crack and the black bolts can shear off due to corrosion, I said f'it and took it off.

If equipt ever gets around to restocking their roof bars, I would probably go that route and have three bars fully across the roof for the GFC. Till then, this works.

Your setup looks great! It seems like you've got a solid workaround until those Equipt roof bars are available again.

If you are thinking of getting Bilstein 8112, keep in mind at the tallest position it rides very firm, I lowered it back to the standard position and put on Coachbuilder's 1" shim.

Truck looks great. What's the wheel and tire setup? 37's?

Fifteen52 Turbomac HDs , 17x8.5 et0, and KO2 37s in c-load, I'm happy with how smooth it rides and how each corner weights only 88lbs.

Do you have more pictures of the 23? Trying to decide on a cap for my 2019 long bed. I tend to lean toward the ”midrise” I think it is called for the bit more of head room. Thank You

Post-Tahuya. I need to figure out a good spot to put some 1x2 or 2x2 pod lights on the front end. I'm having a hard time finding a good spot. I kinda like the clean solid front bumper and don't wanna cut holes in it.

They're 1x2 little cube (rectangle) lights... I don't know if the aesthetic would work. I think I'm gonna give ditch lights a go and see if that works well enough for me. Otherwise I'll cut holes in the bumper and recess them but that's more work haha.

Yeah a pair of square lights would probably look better than 1x2's I guess. maybe underneath the winch tray? It looks like there would be some good spots for small lights like that, maybe even mounted vertically though that might not work depending on the beam pattern. I think ditch lights work good if you're actually wanting the light pointed in the ditch, but not so great for forward facing or fog lights, unless you're putting pretty expensive lights there. By the time you buy ditch light mounts would it just make more sense to get a cheap pair of pods/round lights or a bar and put that on the stinger?

Recent pic of a quick trip to the Hoh Rainforest in Washington.



Since I've never seen a pic/vid of anyone using a hatch ladder with a RTT. It works well, only downside is with multiple people (me/wife/kid) you limit getting in/out of the tent since it requires the hatch closed which is also where all our stuff is. I'll probably bring the telescoping ladder on certain trips, but it's nice to have the option and save space. Having and SUV, the hatch also provides an external mounting location which is nice - I'll be making some brackets to quickly bundle snatch ropes on when I'm snow wheeling with friends.



Diesel heater set-up. This is V2.0. I made it a while back and then recently re-packaged and cleaned up the build with a new case.




And bonus pic of my Tacoma with a new door - used to have a red one, now we're matchin'!
