Hope everyone's mods are coming along.
always have something going on, but have to get focused on stiffening a new center crossbeam and reinstalling some skid plates, 'cause it's easy to put off.....
trying to reduce the junk i haul around every time and never use, but that's tough also.
how do the barrett plans look?
i found it on the map- never been, want to go.

My head is back off again, they are going to try a re-install. After weeks of trying to figure out why it now overheats we ran out of ideas. Keep your fingers crosses. As far as Barrett, I am keeping and eye on it, still closed but it may still open. If not we will come up with a plan B.

I'm planning to sell the Montero. So I'm out... However, if someone wants a rig for the trip, I have one!

Your 2003 Monty sounds pretty interesting based on your signature line. Got a build thread posted somewhere with photos?

I'll compile details soon. It is unlike any other vehicle. It is crazy reliable and capable. I'd drive it around the world as-is. And it gets great fuel mileage. Got 21mpg on the way back from Canada (421 miles and the fuel light wasn't on). I'm a perfectionist. All of the parts installed were not out of necessity but preemptive and for long term reliability. It's good for another 80-90k miles before any major maintenance. I have about an inch thick stack of dealer part receipts. Motor, suspension, differentials have all been gone through with factory parts to manufacturer specs. All work done was for reliability and durability before capability. The truck is extremely comfortable for 12hr plus drives. Seating position is "chair like" plus the luxury of leather, heated, power seats. Great AC. In dash 7" Nav Stereo. 2 Meter Ham.

kudos to the group maintaining access to a place they treasure. i will attempt to tread lightly and see why.......
my "planning" is easy. i don't have to travel as far, it's mostly uphill and very slow, and i have the time to mosey.
looks like i have a couple of days to go see how much damage the fire that chased me out of the e f carson(couple weeks ago) did, before the nm group arrives.
that would put me on the nevada side of the hills, probably see you drive by.
looking forward
