I wouldn't care how great the guy is! If it was me I would be so hacked off. Had my money all this time w/o photos or regular communications. I would be thinking the worst. You can bet this guys funds are long gone covering other forest fires. You couldn't hold me back especially if I not only worked hard to afford this plus missing outings. There is something really wrong here cause he hasn't responded to the forum either.

To me, what is telling is that Sierra is using Facebook and other forums as if all is good in the trailerville. What irks me is that Hannibal is equally silent and making no effort to circumvent the road block and back it's product with any type of support.

I didn't see hide nor hair of Hannibal at ExPo, but I saw some upstarts getting close to comparable.

I just need a part!

He does seem to do a lot of trips away for someone under the pump to deliver so many late trailers

If anyone was at the overland expo and looked at my trailer I gave them the full story of my sierra4x4 trailer. Long story short ordered my trailer in October and was told 4 to 6 weeks to deliver and would be given pics of the build progress. Received the trailer at the end of march (bit longer than the 4-6 weeks promised). It was a very frustrating experience. The trailer is very well built and I am very happy with it but I did miss out on a few club trips due to the late delivery. I have had a few issues of which I asked (email & phone) for solutions but have yet to receive any feedback from them since April. I did post comments of my experience on this forum but the administrator deleted them - I am assuming since he is a sponsor. So my words of wisdom is that he makes a good trailer, is a nice guy, but does not know how to communicate and provide realistic expectations, thus is a poor business man. If you order one expect to wait and expect very little communication. If anyone wants to challenge me I have saved every single communication with them which clearly demonstrates the experience.

I am very disappointed to hear this. The mod, Dendy Jarrett, stated that he was not censoring the thread.

As an admin, I contemplated removing everything for two pages back, but because Chris and Sierra had more people speaking good about him than bad, ... I decided to just call him.
We discussed this recent few pages, and he says - leave it up. I plan on delivering doing the right thing, cause that's all I know.

I have taken this up with Dendy privately. I hope we can get some clarification on who gets their posts deleted.

I too am very troubled to hear this. One of the things I value about this community is the opportunity to learn from the experiences of others. That includes the experiences others have with products and services, both positive and negative. It would be a shame if the commercial interests of the site became the basis for censoring reports from others. The only reason I could accept for editing or deleting such posts would be if it were very clear there were factually incorrect assertions being made.

A lot of assumptions being made, why would a post be deleted here but not in the other Sierra thread. Put away the tin foil hats

What possible reason could there be to delete any of the entries unless he is getting preferred treatment because he's a vendor. But hey he's a nice guy. Im sure the guy who had to come here to get support is a nice guy too.

So I had communicated with Chris who Promised me the trailer would be ready for delivery on June 15th- I asked Chris for pictures on Wednesday of the trailer progress since it was ordered back in November 2011 still waiting for pics updated invoice since we added options back in Jan.... I'll give Chris a call tomorrow to see about the pictures and to make sure we are still good for delivery for June 15th been very very patient with him. 7 months for a trailer promised in January I've been very patient..
Will keep all posted on any progress.....

Ask him to send them while you are on the phone with him and don't let him go until you received them!

Please re-read my post. I said I considered removing the entire thread originally, but indeed there were more folks that even though frustrated with the wait, were very well pleased with the final product. The only reason we considered removing as this was a private matter between a vendor and a consumer - not Directly related to Expo, however since we are in a position to let both sides speak - we allowed it to stay. This, however isn't the Roman era, and this isn't the Collesium and we don't allow mobs to feed folks to the lions! We all have opinions as to how this can be or should be handled, but in the end this is between Chris and his customers. We also don't know (for sure) that we have all the facts in theses matters, so it is hard to sit in judgement. In the end I personally hope Chris will do the right thing and based on one conversation with him- I believe he will.
I type this from a remote lakeside camp at Land Between the Lakes in North Tennessee trying to realize that 'this' is what it is all about!!

Fresno quoted the text just as you typed it and you typed "two pages back"

The only reason we considered removing as this was a private matter between a vendor and a consumer - not Directly related to Expo

It wasn't just one customer. It was multiple customers with the same complaint. Payment in full was made at the time of the purchase with a promise of a delivery date. The delivery date was missed by many months. Communication from the vendor is non existent.

You believed it was Expo related when you allowed the vendor to make multiple posts advertising his product for sale. What changed ?

This, however isn't the Roman era, and this isn't the Collesium and we don't allow mobs to feed folks to the lions!

You have a personal relationship with the vendor. You allowed it to affect your judgement. Now you choose to blame it on "the mob" that is your customer base.

I was out rebuilding a trail in the forest this weekend so others could continue to enjoy motorized backcountry travel.

Excelsior!
-------------snip------ and we don't allow mobs to feed folks to the lions!

I would go back and count up the number of people who actually ordered trailers and had delivery issues before I would label them a "mob". Much like the Optima battery problems thread, there are obviously real problems for a large number of Sierra 4x4 paying customers.

PS: Why in the world are you logged into the Internet from a "remote" camp??? Turn the **********' computer off. :mixed-smiley-030:

PS-PS: Mobs have been known to attack Expo members like TacoDoc and ScenicWonderRunner but there seems to have been less concern about them being harassed.
