sig p238 vs ???

I held the 9mm Shield and I really liked the way it felt. Not sure if I'd consider it a pocket gun by any means though. As for the LCP - I really like mine. 850 rounds through it to date. It's not perfect, but it's so easy to carry/conceal.

I agree about the Shield- it really feels excellent in the hand. Oddly, it's slightly larger overall than a Glock 26/27 but feels much smaller due to being slightly narrower. I'd like to get some trigger time with one, but I could see giving up the G26, and a couple of rounds, for one. The Sig P225/P6 is another one of those guns that feels smaller than it actually is.

Well as usual I am a victim of my own ability to over think lol. I still have not made a decision but have looked a few others. In the 380 I am still leaning on the sig p238 but have taken another look at the lcp and lc9. I am going to look at a Kahr pm9 sig p938 this weekend and if I can find the single stack shield but I have a feeling I'll be back to the sig since I already have a glock 26 and it's to heavy. But we will see. I think the hardest part is no ranges in my area have these small guns for rent or demo. On a $300 gun no prob but a $700 I think I want to crack a few off first.

All the reputable brands are good.

Make the brand a secondary focus and get what fits your hand and intuitively feels right when manipulating the controls.

This is what led me to the Ruger P-90 .45 - it's a mans weapon and just felt right. Perfect for me, and Hecho en Estados Unidos

Love 1911's, but for me the Ruger (and it's sights, grip and 8 round mag) is better in every way.

For CCW, I'm really liking the Shield as well as the LCP. We'll see.

Rohrbaugh R9 - I've tried almost all, and have quite a few of the pocket pistols, and have two of these. In 9mm hands down the nicest pocket pistols out there, but you pay dearly for them. Build quality is like a Swiss watch, and bank vault reliable...

Ok so I managed to get my hands on the new sig p938. I think it's perfect for me. And only about 3/8 or so longer then the p238. However the slightly longer grip fills my hand better then the 238 and packs a 9mm punch which is better. All I have to do now is to wait for a two tone version to hit the streets. Hopefully a sas version will be out soon.

The p938 I got to use was an extreme version with those terrible g10 grips. I know some love them but they are just to rough for my likes. I will say though the 7 round mag makes a huge difference for these small guns. The comfort and stability when gripping is so much better so I will definitely be buying several of them. Plus I already have a great pile of 9mm ammo so I won't have to worry about the expense of the stocking up on expensive 380 rounds.

Well after a 2 month wait my new p938 is in! Got it home last night and broke it down for a good cleaning and lubrication. I was amazed at how dirty this thing was from the factory. Been along time since I bought a brand new gun, they had to have put more then 1 round through it. Anyway greased up the rails real good and oiled all the moving parts so it should be good for my first trip to the range on monday. Now I have to sort out holsters, but I did get an extra plus 1 mag for it so I can go 6 plus one with a 7 round spare mag for 14 total. Pretty good for a gun smaller then my hand and less then 20oz cocked and locked w 7 rounds.

Good purchase. I bought my wife a p238 as a carry pistol about a year ago and she loves it. It's a very well put together pistol, and as much as people hate on .380 it's a good caliber for her as she feels comfortable shooting it. She will just unload the entire magazine if she has to.

On 1911's... I actually did the complete opposite of what everyone in this thread with 1911's has said. I sold all of my 1911's and went back to polymer pistols. They are definitely fun to shoot and aesthetically pleasing pistols, but I found that with most double stack polymer pistols I get more bang for my buck. My daily carry now is a Sig p229 and my bedstand/battle gun is a p226. Sure they may be 9mm, but with a Mec-Gar mag with a tiny extension I can hold 20 rounds in the 226. And the magazine doesn't hang out the bottom of the pistol any more than the Wilson Combat magazine butt pads do.

Nice choice. I recently picked up a Sig 290 (second from the left in the picture below). My normal carry gun is the G19 with the light and RMR. I carry the Sig when I can't carry.

Nullifier that's s nice looking little pistol how does it shoot for you?

Well so far this one is off to a bad start, and I had to send it back to Sig. All my isues have geen with 115 gr ftfire and ftfeed. Gun operates at 85% which is way to low to trust for c.c. I just got it back this week and have not gone to the range. Sig polished the feed ramp and upgraded the extractor. However they test fired 124 gr ammo not 115 which i clearly spelled out to them in the letter i sent with my gun.

If it doesn't cycle properly then i am going to take it back and get a kahr pm9 which is probably what I should have got in the first place. I have carried the 938 in my pocket for 3days and determined a gun with a hammer as no business in the pocket just on the sheer volumn of lint that gets into it!

To the 938's testimony I will say it is a cazy accurate little 9mm and in no way would want to find myself on the business end of one. It is very smooth and very easy to acquire a target with those combat sights.

Did they ever solve the issues and did you keep it?

Yes sig resolved the issues. I have decided to keepmit and after running it for awhile it is not on me every day. My full time carry gun. It has 8rnds of pdx1 124gr+p in it. 19 oz loaded so i hardly notice it ith my blackhack leather gun belt. I highly recomend this outstanding little shooter.
