Does anyone have any experience with silkaflex-221? I have never used it but was thinking of using it for a camper roof membrane adhesive. The roof membrane is aluminum diamond plate to be attached to steel framing. From what I read this adhesive is good for bonding dissimilar metals. Any other better adhesive for this application?

See Rob Gray's construction diary. On his 1st build he used 3M VHB (very high bond) but found as he was taking it apart for his 2nd build that Sikiflex was tougher to remove panels.

Did you check out the Eco-Roamer build. I know they used Sikaflex, but can't remember the exact number/model.

No experience with your application but ive used some of these sealant/adhesives.
Dicor 502-LSW -- great self-leveling adhesive sealant for rooftops. Designed for horizontal applications and great bonding strength. I used it to "glue" an alum. solar panel mount on my roof and it has held up to so heavy highway winds and washboard for a year now with no signs of separation.
Sikaflex 291 -- also adhesive/sealant. Polyurethane and messy but it holds great and I have used it as a vertical bonding sealer when mounting lights/racks/items to exterior of my camper
3M 4200 and 5200 -- great polyurethane adhesive/sealant. the 5200 is more permanent of a bond.
3M Proglaze at windows
DAP Dynaflex 230 -- never used it but gets good ratings as a sealant but also that it will mold up. Off my list for that reason alone.
DAP phenoseal NOT for horizontals or sanding h2o cuz it is water soluble vinyl adhesive.
these guys have good prices and alot of quality options. http://www.defender.com - boating co's got this sealing stuff down.

I used Sika 252 to bond aluminum to fibreglass, its the recommended adhesive by Sika, the 221 can also be used for adhesion but is better suited for sealing, 252 has very strong holding properties to the point where the 252 will stay put and the product around it will be destroyed. Only cutting it will separate the two.

This matches my experience; SikaFlex 252 is preferred for holding things in place.
Wear gloves. Not for nothing is it nicknamed "SeekingFlesh."
