So I sent my "standard lift blocks" back to 4 crawler in exchange for the "ultimate lift blocks". After seeing how well the fit the stock montero size, I felt that the standard are undersized. Good thing this isn't a daily driver! Im only ~80mi away and should have the new blocks by this weekend.

That FJ ARB you have looks really stout! I'm curious to see how the depth works with the Monty. I was parked by an FJ today and the front is more curved in comparison to the box that is the montero.

I agree the FJ is rounder in the front. I'm going to trim the inner bumper a bit to fit the flat end of the Monty.

Havn't had time to investigate the leak. Back at work for the week. Won't be able to do anything until Friday and sat. An old friend is visiting from Norway, so Saturday is booked.

That snorkel sounded cool, but the Magnaflow on your BMW sounded amazing, tell me it's sound's just like that on the Monty ;) I'll go out and buy one tonight:wings:

I called about my ultimate lift blocks today. Seems to be a 50/50 chance I'll get them by this weekend. I hope so because if I dont, that means I won't be able to get to it until the following weekend.
Question for those that have don this lift. What about the steering? When you lift the body do you have to do anything got the steering colum, rack, linkage? No one ever mentions this.

Didn't have to mess with the steering, the lift isnt tall enough to have any effect on the linkage. Do pay attention to the brake lines in the front when you install the kit. If youre not carefull you may damage the lines during the install. There is some extra brake line in the engine compartment to extend through the front apron. Also pay attention to the gas-tank tube. When I did my install, I lifted the body just enough to install the blocks, no more.

Not really here
Located an arb bumper for a taco. Homeboy wants $600 tho. Hmmmm...

That's a bit pricey but I did just score a Logan's winch bumper from a cherokee Honestly, that isn't bad. I'm sure he left some wriggle room for the price though.

Yeah, I'm shure. But its 90mi away too. I found a ARB for a 89ish nissan pu in my town ($500) but it is not as bobust as the ont that was for the montero (and taco for that matter).
There is this fab shop where I live. The guy there ,Tim, is really nice. He removed 3 broken skid plate bolts for me for $45 when NO OTHER SHOP would even touch it! I'm going to have him fab some brackets to rais my bumpers when the lift is done.

Meanwhile (at the bat cave) the search continues for a bumper...
