Yes it's harsher. No, the diff's don't leak fluid but you are putting the suspension at an unnatural angle and the CV's will wear more. How much more is still a topic of discussion.With jacking your T-bars all the way is the ride harsher and do you leak diff fluid like 100 series cruisers?
How can you take off your stock roofrack? I have a RTT and ARB that would fit if the stock rails were gone.

There are screws that hold it to the roof via attached nutserts. Assuming the nutserts don't spin, you should be able to easily unscrew the rack feet from the roof. If the nutserts spin, you can sometimes apply downward pressure while unscrewing to stop them from spinning or if all else fails, grip the nutserts from the inside (after getting 'under' the head liner) while removing the screws.
