Quality being the key word..... There are some crappy hose clamps out there. I do Ideal stainless only these days.

I've connected multiple clamps together in the past to make a larger one also. I just wish they would include a 'keeper' of some sort to keep the tail down flush with the band, similar to what is on a watch band. It would make for a much neater installation and help prevent those nasty cuts you can get when reaching into a tight place on an engine next to one.

Another lovely weekend in the desert! It was HOT though, 95. and sunny....

And I think I need some new blocks.... These dont like heavy trucks and soft surfaces....
Also, Sika 252 DOES NOT bond to ABS well at all. I thought it was going to be ok for my panel, but it let go on two feet, and was loosing grip on the others also. Sadly screws were added to my roof, as I saw this from my second story window about 5 minutes before I was supposed to be driving away. I did use the primer and adhesion promoter they wanted, but was warned by the tech guy it didn't bond that well to ABS. The aluminum mounts I used in the middle are rock solid still. I squirted some 5200 in there and added screws before we left. If that fails I will try 3m panel bond...... But sadly there are 12 screw holes in my roof now.....

I bought a set of these Andersen Hitches 3604 x2 Plus 2 Authentic Rubber Mats, but I haven't tried them out yet.
I've had good luck with Loctite PL Premium Fast Grab Polyurethane Construction Adhesive for things that nothing else would hold. Plus, it's waterproof also.

Interesting, I'm interested to hear how those do on soft ground....
Yeah PL is good stuff, but not something I would use for structural bond wo/ any mechanical fasteners also. I guess in hindsight I shouldn't have trusted the 252 either (on ABS).

Those Andersen hitches are not that wide, maybe 5 - 6 inches so they will probably sink into soft ground without a base plate of some sort. The nice thing about them is, you put them in place on the low side and just pull forward until your bubble gage reads level. My plan is to have a gage mounted on the front of my camper trailer that I can see in my rear view mirror or backup camera. I'm also looking at an electronic leveling system that has a module you mount on the inside front wall, and it reads out to an app on your phone. That way you can be anywhere around the camper and see what's going on as you're working to level it.
