I am surprised no one has mentioned the Class 11 baja bugs. Basically stock VW bugs that complete the Baja 1000

I have seen a few of these running around in Washington state with plates on them. Not quite sure how they did that.

That. Is. Awesome.

Every now and then I see Kei trucks on craigslist, but unless you live in rural Oregon, they're not road legal. However, I did run across a Daihatsu Hijet a few months ago that was road legal (or was advertised as such).

Here's our Micro-Overlander project: 1979 Suzuki LJ81. We bought it a couple months ago pretty much stock as you see it here. We built the bed rack and added the roof top tent and larger tires. Plan to build out a full camp kitchen in the pick up bed.

Road legal and licensed in WA state.

My friend in Japan just shared a new concept from Suzuki being revealed there: the Hustler. It's a combination of micro-car and utility vehicle.
