Mine is almost put together, but I have a few areas I wanted to ask for your opinion on.
First. The crate that housed the trailer for transport was banged up pretty good, and subsequently there was some damage. Front tongue plate from above and beneath.
These are off course cosmetic, but anything that should be considered as the 2x2 bottom square tubing on the crate was was bent about 1.5 inches. Other damage to inspect due to that.?
Everything appears to function normal, except for one drawer, which I am certain I can figure.
The other thing is the shock u brackets to the frame. All 8 mounts are exactly 8mm too wide for the shock. Almost like they changed shocks and forgot to change the mount with. Smitty said to just tq. the bolts to the 85 ft/pounds and the brackets will pull inwards. I'm not buying that as 8mm is rather large, and you will not get a square surface to mate the shocks to. I also think you might damage the welds to the frame. I am somewhat surprised of that response, and they state, correctly, to wait to tighten them until you have weight on the axles. I think that a couple of fender washers is a much better idea to keep everything parallel.
Did any of you see this shock mount difference. Smytty states that that is how they all are. I just finds this hard to accept. Anyway, fix is easy. A trip to ace hardware, and I'm rolling. I just wanted to get your input.
