Smittybilt Scout Trailer Reviews?

Wow that tent looks amazing, and as you say, it really looks made for the Scout. I ended up getting the CVT Hybrid Rainier with the extended fly. I spoke with CVT and gave them dimensions of the scout and they thought the Denali would be too big, but that the Rainier would be perfect. It'll get me some time to get a buddy with enough muscles to help me mount it on the trailer, but when I do I'll post pictures.

Good for you. I would have gone with CVT too, the quality is right up there with Tepui and the price is better but I had a friend who worked at Tepui and got a great deal a few years back. Good luck and have fun with your set up. Looking forward to seeing pics.

Speaking of the rear stabilizer jacks, I was looking to see if anyone knows what a good replacement/ equivalent might be. Mine got stolen off the trailer a few months ago while i was on the road... and while i can live without them, I’d love to get another set.

I‘ve been looking at these (https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Jack/Pro-Series/PS1401080303.html) and they seem close — anyone out there ever replace their jacks?

Not sure if you want exact replacements but the part number for the rear stabilizer jacks is 87400-47. Smittybilt says that spare parts can be ordered from 4 Wheel Parts, Quadratec, or Summit Racing.
I have not tried to order spare parts yet but was looking to purchase rear tray (drawer) slides for another project and they sent me a parts number list and mentioned who to order from.

Hope this helps.

I've read through all the pages and took alot of info to apply to my new to me scout trailer. This forum is awesome.. I've add OVS 4 person tent and their huge 270 awning. I had to make a Bracket off the front to hold there length.

Added ARK jack front and rear. Front barely lifts the trailer enough but it works with this size tire.

Added a rear bumper with basket based on another user's suggestion. The company dirtworks is 5 minutes from my house and I liked the simple design for adapting it to out trailers. I mounted it using the receiver and d ring mounts. The ark Jack's in the rear swing to different levels and can be tucked underneath or to the side of the box. The side mount blocks the tag but allows for more clearance if needed off road.

Looks like prices for the trailer went up, or I missed the increase. Seeing $8-9k places, Northridge4x4 was $7600 last week now its $9k.
Yep I have noticed that, means mine is worth more now I guess and I am good with that. Adding a water tank and on demand hot water to mine. Getting things done while it is too hot for me to camp.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!View attachment 663019

I actually got the same OVS 270 awning as an upgrade to my ARQ270 that is on the trailer. Mainly because of the addition of walls. But when I received it, I realized that there is no way the trailer stock arms will hold that kind of weight, especially extended w/o support (as the awning is capable of.) So I kept the ARQ270 on the trailer, about 1/4th of the weight, and slapped the OVS 270 on the Excursion. You don't have much weight up top, yet, but I wonder how well it would handle with an RTT while rock crawling. Also, the jack handles hanging like that don't hit any objects while you're out on the rocks?
