This is all i have.

The photo was taken a hair too early. About 4 seconds after this photo was shot the water was 1/4 way up the windshield.

Yeah i went through a 2nd time and the dizzy got wet. Stan had to winch me out. Lesson learned, make a proper bow wave and don't drive too fast.

Dave the dizzy gets wet because of the vent hole on the base plate on the 80 series. JB weld a 3/16 piece of pipe onto the vent hole and extend with hose and no more problem with it getting wet.

Im trying to picture what you are saying... but can't place the vent hole you speak of... i'll have to go look. Thanks for the tip Phil.

The hole is on the lower part of the base plate(the flat plate the dist cap screws to). I dont think you you can see it because its on the lower back side but you should be able to feel it. IIRC you can see it when you remove the cap. I was surprised at Toyota when I found this out. The best snorkel made wont help with this oversight.

Here is one of mine, not deep at all, but will do for now!

Once I was coming back on a trail and it started pouring water from the skys I had to cross a small creek to get back home and it was late at night( 1:00am), I crossed the creek and as I was driving on it for maybe 100 feet I hit a deep hole, water went over the hood, headlights went under water and then i knew I needed to have a snorkel! Now I also have some offroad lights on top of my roof!
