Snow testing

Pacific North West is getting pounded with snow. I had a 35 mile commute to school. Got there it started to Snow ,so headed home. Now reminder I'm driving a E350 Lifted 2.5" with 33" All season tires. I have a locker in the rear axle.
Well, Van did great, even took it off the beaten path to avoid some crashed Cars. Only thing negative about tires is, wish i had more aggressive tread.

We were pretty well hammered white last night on the north oregon coast also. It's fun to see a beach covered with fresh snow!

My wife made a few early morning runs with the Express AWD with the new Wild Country XTX traction tires, she said it drove like it was on rails. I was not so fortunate as i experienced some sliding on the ice driving the same roads in our toyota echo with new not-so-all-season tires. There really is a difference between "all season" and "traction" tires! Of course having all four turning and twice the weight helps too.

This pic is by my place from today, and the video of Seattle was from last night that someone posted on YouTube.
Yep, we got hammered yesterday with snow and ice.

Both of these are in the Winter thread.

It is bad here, and going to get down to around 13° tonight.
Here is a Droid shot I took while walking to the bank to take care of some business today.

Doesn't take much, people here can't drive when it's frikkin DRY, let alone icy! Drivers here are the worst I have ever seen. It is amusing at times, not going to lie :sombrero:

Oh, I beg to differ....I believe that distinction goes to the people here in cali..the slightest drop of moisture turns them into ...well I can't say as this is a family channel..:smiley_drive:

I dunno, I grew up in San Diego..Cali has it's fair share of crappy drivers for damn sure, but I'd confidently wager that seattle/washington has worse drivers.

The problem with the greater Seattle area is most of it is steep hills.
Often these hills get bypassed by the sanding/deicer trucks so they can stick to the main roads.

No problem at my place even with 5" or more of snow and ice from yesternights low temp of 13°.
Not many hills where I live, but that video is a good example of hills that Seattle has to deal with whenever they get a little bit of snow or ice.

Since I have not been to seattle to witness this, I will say ,ok, then please keep them there, as cali does not need anymore...:sombrero:
