So I might have bought this M416

I would think you could use a yakima Q tower legs, and modify a set of Q-clips to clamp on the outside edges. If you don't know what a q-clip is, they are car specific attachement points for the yakima q-tower system, but you'd have to modify a set to hug the side rails of the tub. The Q clip for a Jeep cherokee would be a good one to start with, or you could just go to a store that carries them and go through the boxes until you find one that looks like a good starting place.

It would be removeable and shouldn't damage the paint if you pad or use some type of cushion tape on the Q-clip.

P.S. they sell for pennies on ebay.

Well, make sure you raise the tent up off the top of the trailer, else you will have trouble getting things into and out of the tub.

When I bought my trailer, the previous owner fabricated a rack out of basically exhaust pipe, and then mounted the tent to it. No need to invest in a Yakima or similar mounting system.

More invasive than you may like, but I think it's an option that will leave you with a more usable trailer.

Quick question for the M416 trailer owners, what is the rear width (same as the front) of the box? I was looking to add a Jeep bumper and the seller agreed to make it whatever width I need.

Also should the ends stick out or be flush with the box? If the ends were longer things could be mounted btwn the fender and the bumper.

The tub is square. (except for mine).

51" at the rim.
49" top of the tub minus rim.
41" Across for the bottom half of the tub.

What width would be reccomended for a bumper for the trailer? The stock (ebay bumper) measures 57". What would be an Ideal length, I truly like Bmonday's setup but have yet to hear back from him on width of bumper he was using.

When i do the bumper on the back of mine im going to keep it the same width as it is which is the 41". Attaching stuff to the fender doesnt seem like a good idea in my mind because it isnt attached to antyhing besides the thin sheet metal of the tub. Of course it could be reinforced. One thing i would reccomend is putting a reciever in so that if you get stuck with the trailer you can have someone pull the trailer out first, or do it yourself with a comealong, then pull your runner out. Also have a point put on it that you can mount some kind of jack to so that you can sleep in the trailer when it is not hooked up to the runner with out it tipping backwards. A lid isnt to bad, if you put the tent on to open the opposite way the lid does you can still get in it when tent is deployed, BUT, not with your wife and or kids sleeping. There are electronic rams out there that you could use to raise and lower it which might be an option, (probably expensive). Go with a 7 wire, especially if your truck is already wired, if not still do it. That way you can power everything in the trailer just like a camp trailer, a 4 flat cant, as im sure you know. Go with led marker lights and led tail lights as well. You can get stuff to mount into the bumper that will sit flush with it instead of sticking out any where.

That's a great find for $600.

Here's another idea for mounting a spare:

The only problem I have found is that you need alot of weight in the front of the trailer to make it tow well with all that weight in the back.

What did the previous owner use for feet to mount his exhaust tubing?

Not that simple as there is a stud that either slide in or on the outside of the tower portion for nearly complete removal.
