So you want to turn your old body style Ford Van into a 4x4?

I love the older vans and this axle is a deal. If mine got stolen last night I'd be on the web looking for a 300CI straight 6 with manual tranny to drop this in. Any clean old van would do and older camper vans are a dime a dozen. I'm surprised this has not been sold.

Yeah Its kinda funny everyone has to have a DANA 60 these days.....But this axle worked in the van for 20 years and I never had an issue with it....would like someone to make a deal...trying to get rid of it but I will not give it away or just junk it..

It was under a 7.3 IDI diesel van....admittedly on the light side....but for and E150 or 250 would be perfect...and a lot cheaper...Tranny in Van was an E4OD and transfer case was a BW 1356...

That being said my Van is going thru a complete rebuild...plan on eventually a 12V cummins...so YES I have a Dana 60 (4:10 and ARBs) under it now and a custom 4 link...but it costs a lot more

I truly believe this axle and judicious work finding tranny 4x4 housing a BW 1356...do it yourself...probably under 2 grand for the whole conversion which is a deal by any measure

What side is the pinion on?

I assume its an 8 lug pattern?

Sorry for the slow reply...Its a ford Axle so the pinion is on the drivers(Left) side and it is an 8 lug axle with 3.55 gears
