solar battery charger

I was wondering if anyone has found or knows of a solar battery charger that could b e used to start a dead battery? I once had an experiecnce where my battery died due to heat,I was fine one moment stopped to get get gas in vegas, went to start the truck maybe 5 min later and deader than a smelt.
so I thought what if this happens when I am out alone 50 miles from nowhere? anyone know of such an item?

this is a good question for the power systems forum. a small solar panel will take days to charge a dead battery, it would be better to have a 2 battery setup, imho
