I did the same thing years ago when they first came out. Great heater for a RTT or small RV.
Funny same box too.

GLWS. I can vouch for the awesomeness of these units. Nothing funnier than coming out of your RTT looking like Ace Ventura falling out of the Rhino, when it's 29 degrees outside and everyone else is huddled around the campfire in layers of clothes and your in boxers and a tank top.... the thermometer in the tent read 122 degrees!! NO LIE! and it was an EEzi Awn 1600 T-top.

Interested but can you confirm model number? HS2000 is currently available from Rocky Mountain west for $745. Is this a special kit?

You are correct.. And it is comparable to the that kit for $1915. Factoring in all fittings, hoses, wiring, labor etc. That is what adds up. I know what AT sells theirs for and that is why I built my own and am also offering at a less price.

Adam,

Nice work, which side is the exhaust gases from the burner exiting? The pictures are kind of small and hard to see details.

It is opposite from the tent air if that is what you are asking, and the new port is out the back. I had to put a shorter Exhaust Run for the burner which now runs out of the back side due to high elevation no burn issues (11,500ft). I always ran a battery Carbon Monoxide detector (As with Any heater) just a a precaution but never had any issues. Being it is an heat exchanger unit you can purchase an additional duct hose for the "Return" air effect and this will not be a concern anymore also.

Here is a pic of the unit to better see the tent intake and post heat exchanger port

Just love the juxtaposition of this thread. Some of you wonder the value of this home built heater. Some of you compare it to the original AT Product. To me it's my personal investment of time and money to come up with the original idea, a portable heater, that this guy stole lock stock and barrel because he couldn't think for himself and come up with something new and innovative. I expect this type of thing from the overseas market not a portal member. Buyer beware.

Wow... this escalated quickly.... I'm shocked that a moderator hasn't jumped in saying something along the lines of not bashing someone's listing, price etc...
What's the world coming To?:p

Bravo Martyn... I have spent Thousands with AT through the years and you even offer a DIY heater kit. Yet because this project was not sourced from you you feel the need to troll.
I started realizing that most of your products are not in house and feel you take too much credit for the work that many others manufacture with your name on it. I never once side it was an original idea, but maybe because I exposed that you can build this project for considerably less..... is that what you are so upset about?

Wow, that's pretty cool that you designed the first portable propane heater. Here I was thinking you just put someone else's heater in a box and marked up the price.
