The matte/black is because of the walk-on surface with sand structure which comes with the Mercedes G Professional

Pretty easy to make. Just get the checkerplate/diamond plate from an aluminium supply place. If you want them black get them powder coated.
Half the fun in having an expedition vehicle is making stuff like that for it. Yourself.
