I am still deeply in love with mine and have not ever noticed an issue...
mine rides on the a-pillar w/ industrial velcro so it always gets a clear view and I can see the blinky lights...
my 1 and only issue is with the programing that requires me to turn off tracking to send an ok message and then after it is sent turn back on tracking

Hey Lance,

I noticed your FJ in front of the coffee shop near my house in Prescott the other day. Wish I could have stopped to join you for a cuppa joe.

Botox monsters....that is tooooo funny.
Glad to have you on the Spot list...if you want my personal info for your spot list just pm me...good to have your listed filled with rescue folks
Sounds good!
I was thinking about that.
You've probably thought of this:
If we create an email expospot@gmail or something. We have that email address forward to a list automatically.
That way we put one email address on our "help" list and it goes out to everyone on the list.

That way we all get any help messages as members of the "spot" club, but only the ones near or able to respond would do so. Or if you know someone in the area you can always take that info and forward it to someone not on our list.

Whadaya think?

Botox monsters are nothing funny! Sometimes they just stare at you expressionless as if they can look straight through you. Great poker players, but fierce! :bike_rider:

my driver side OH SHIP! handle is a perfect spot for spot. Where did you get the serious grade velcro? Normal velcro takes one look at our summers here and runs away.

I have an e-mail list setup like that, only I limit it to my friends. It gives them a place to discuss who is going to come rescue my bum so they don't all head out to the woods when only one person is necessary.

Little roadtrip over the weekend - just exploring the highways of Montana and Idaho... and Costco :)

Took our Honda as the Tacoma's driver side coilover is still being rebuilt.

SPOT Sharing

I am working a little more with SPOT on some testing, and have been beta testing their new "Shared" page.

It allows you to create a public or password protected page independent of your user account, which will allow others to view your current and recent locations, ok messages, tracks and help requests. I really like this feature, as I think it would be fun for others to be able to follow a trip and our progress on adventures.

Here is a test I just completed:

SPOT sharing, where is Expeditions West? RIGHT HERE

Jaguar Trail

About a week ago, we completed a trek into Southern Arizona, looking for the North American Jaguar. This included some amazing tracking exercises and time spent with the Angel Fund, African Conservation Fund, etc. It really shows what can be accomplished with conservationists and the right equipment (which includes a reliable, capable 4wd).

Ongoing tracking

Here is a link to a forum where I continually track my location during the day using my spot and a shared page. Hopefully it will show you what the thing is capable of. If anything, it's just fun! Don't forget the satellite view.

Also, if you right click on any event you can get rid of the deal that connects each point with a line which can be quite anoying if you ask me.
