SPOT users what options ?

Sure seems like a nice way to introduce the feature. I have not been a believer in the need for such a device, but am being drawn to the dark side.
I am a recovery resource for a family that has been traveling South East Oregon and northern Nevada. They are using SPOT.
I am on their email notification list and get the daily "OK" message. Following their progress and locations has been GREAT!
This has changed my view on this device completely. I do not own one yet, but now it is under consideration. Anyone who knows me knows I am a skeptic. Just my nature, or maybe my hard head.
If you are not convinced of the value, have someone put you on their notifications list. It really is an eye opener.

So the SPOT price is right around $140-150 What does the does the yearly subscription cost? If you want to track it on Google Earth or Maps? is it an additional $150 a year? Just trying to gather facts to convince my wife it is a worthwhile investment in peace of mind.

basically $99 a year but if you want the tracking on google maps that is a extra $49
but do a google and you can get the free code for a while to get that free for one year
trust me you will get hooked

there is also a 7.95 insurance thing you can get if you decide


me I think playing with it a bit the tracking is super cool so well worth it
