Stolenheron's 04 D2 thread

looks good chris. i'm thinking about talking to denny about one. but of course i'd be selling the RTE.

why? the RTE isn't gonna let you down. i wouldnt bother going through the hassle of selling it. not trying to kill business for denny, just saying it seems like a lot of work to replace something that works fine as is.

yeah but it looks snazzy. :coffeedrink:

i don't know. text me how much it was before shipping. i don't feel like calling denny.

discovered i have a broken motor mount. Land Rover Austin will work with me on getting it fixed before my 1200 mile trip home in 10 days.

also i now need to work on one of my door hinges as a result of wheeling this weekend... something got tweeked or loosened.

well my QT motor mounts are on their way to TX.

LR austin will be servicing my truck, they've been very helpful so far on the phone and allowing me (1 time only, due to my circumstances away from home) to provide my own parts.

my steering wheel is off a few degrees, which has happened before and has been fixed by an alignment...but it could mean something bent when we were on North Peak. so they will look into that as well. if my aftermarket warranty covers it, then they will replace with stock which i can then easily resell down the road to purchase my HD steering kit i so desire.

That's just awful. Is that the best you could come up with?

lol it works fine for now. but yes for a single hardware store run that was all i got. i want to make better mounts, and corners from aluminum pipe, also redo the "tarp" with true canvas, stitched to fit.

Nothing personal, but that awning is pretty terrible. Not just materials, but design too. I completely understand the desire to do something budget related, but I just don't think that's a very good solution.

The Hannibal awning is the best one out there, and it's an easy clean bolt on solution to your Hannibal rack. Trust me, don't bother sinking any more money into that awning, instead save up and buy a nice Hannibal awning. You WON'T regret it.
