Subaru owners: Let's see your expedition rigs!

I have a 2015 3.6R with 124k on it and it’s still pretty solid. I’ve heard of guys getting a CVT overheat light when pushing them off road for extended climbs, but not for differentials.

I agree with this, that this matches what I have heard. I haven't heard anything about a Subie diff being a problem. If my post(s) on that were unclear, I apologize.

Anyone in here running a second battery in the spare well of their gen 5 Outback? Would love to see pictures as I'm contemplating this.

Bought used NL power pack......just run a 6 gauge fused wire from main battery to power pack

I run a G31 battery...
If i was to do it all over again i would run a Jackery power unit...
Yes they expensive, but you avoid the install labor and can use it on different vehicles.....
Convenient af...

Hardly an expedition rig, but here’s my new Outback Touring XT in dispersed campsite not too far from Leadville, CO. The only mod is that I’ve added the factory hitch because it will soon be pulling a Hiker Trailer. I’m looking to upgrade tires for a bit more confidence on rough dirt roads. And I might add a rooftop basket, but will probably put that on the trailer instead.

I might do simple build to sleep in the car when I travel alone. Seems like that would be ideal for overnight trips to go mountain biking. But for now I’ll stick with a tent for those trips.

130k miles on my 2015 3.6R and I enjoyed flogging it on the Tail of the Dragon last weekend, 11/14.

Up at 4:15am, on the Dragon before 9am, back home in central KY by 3:30pm.

The Outback performed way better than I expected, with plenty of power from the 3.6L and using the paddles to keep the CVT in 2nd and 3rd.

Ours showed up about three months ago with 3 miles on it. We've only managed to put another 500 on it so far. Still breaking it in and keeping the revs low but it seems to handle the mountains well and looking forward to our first snow season! Still planning on keeping it stock...........

Just kinda funny (very annoying)........Subaru factory warranty must be crap since we purchased the car for cash, refused the extended warranty since theDealership extended it to 100k/6 yr at no cost but, either the Dealer or Subaru sold our info to a Extended Warranty service that has now swamped us with calls and mailings to buy their extended warranty........PITA.......BA14821D-9C9C-44B8-9367-AA953C969915.jpeg

In my case I think they came from DMV selling info. I get something every week or so for my 04 Tacoma
