Not to far apart from each other are Sunset Crater National Monument and Wupatki National Monument. Just North of Flagstaff, Arizona.
If anyone else has images of these two places post up, and even Lockett Meadow which is a place up in the Mountains that you can actually look down on Sunset Crater from. I have no good images of Lockett Meadow itself.

First two images are from Sunset Crater National Monument near the camp ground.

The rest are from Wupatki National Monument.

Found this Dog there, she too some coaxing to get into the Xterra.
She was starved and covered in fleas, that night she vomited the food we gave her and what looked and smelled like sage she had been eating in the high desert.

We were speeding along back to camp to get her to a nice warm camp fire, took these motion blur shots while on the move.

wow great pics! so are you keeping the dog?

The dog we rescued was a few years ago, we brought it to the Humane Society shelter in Flagstaff, probably the best one in the country as they were proud to tell us as far as their adoption rate goes. Very nice facility.
We told them the dogs story and gave them the collar she had on her with the chicken wire so they could see what kind of life she had been having.
We also donated $50 and the leash and collar we just bought for her.
She was near death starving and extremely dehydrated, covered head to toes in fleas and I just could not risk bring her home to my four dogs in that condition.
I think by now she has been having a wonderful life in a nice home up in Flagstaff, I know if I lived up there it would definitely be a wonderful life.

More pics.

Nikon D70s, you should be able to get images as good with your G11.
The pano I took about 6 images with the camera tilted 90 degrees then used stitch software to blend them into one image.
Unfortunately that series of pano shots was taken back when I had no grasp of exposing for the sky and rescuing the foreground from darkness in post, so there are some blown clouds in the shot.
