Check out the latest on their blog. Man, that sucks! Glad nobody got hurt. It doesn't sound good, but I REALLY hope they can get it fixed and back on the road. It was such a nice ride and camper, it would be such a shame to see it go to waste.

Best of luck to them.

Well, I read the whole thing and watch the movie. The good news is the camper is salvagable. That's the one thing that is irreplacable. The truck may have suffered a worst fate, but once they get the insurance money, they can always get another Tacoma.

Man, sure reminds us of the perils of long expeditions, especially outside the country. What would they have done had this occured in Central or South America?

Oh man, that really blows. Glad to hear no one got hurt, because you can always buy more metal and plastic. I hope they manage to get a new truck out of the ordeal.
All the best to them.
Cheers ,

Dude!

Like everyone says, that sucks! That truck might be done for with the frame tweaked like that. Time to build a buggy!

Anyone here ever had to deal with a wreck in Mexico?

Wow, that's gotta be heartbreaking after all the time and effort they've poured into that. At least no one was hurt, could've been much worse, and the camper is back in US Soil. Hopefully they'll receive due compensation out of the ordeal.

What a scene - I really feel for them... but they seem to make very good choices inspite of the situation

the up side is that it looks like the camper it self is going to be salvagable. The bad news is it is alot of work to reinstall it on another tacoma. Hopefully they can make lemonade out of the situation and possibly upgrade to an 06+ tacoma to place the camper on. This should give them better stability and performance then the older taco.

I suprised that they gave all the stuff tot he cop with the attitude. I would have given it to the people at the junk yard LOL!

Actually, I think that was a smart move, you don't want to anger the cops down there. It is guilty until proven inocent. My baja veteran friends have told me stories about them throwing both parties in jail, until everything is firgured out.:yikes:

That totally sucks. Well they at least got the flatbed tow truck dudes to get them back up here.. that's a good thing i guess.
