I told him he should just SAS it and make it huge while he's under there, but he kept whining about something called "money" and an alleged "lack thereof". I dunno what he's talking about.

:D

That lady was a real pain in the ********, but we got 'r' dun in an hour just to show her how we do. :D

New cab?:Wow1:

If you put a new frame and new cab on it, what was the $1000 for?

Nice project. Hope you and the wife feel better soon.

If you have good fab skills, you could build something like the Adventure Trailer or Campa USA box for your truck bed.

I have never had a nice looking rig. They are too utilitarian for me. You have to use the truck and in using it sometimes you get scratches and dings.

So I figure what the hell it's allready got dings.

couldn't agree more! in my case, i've never had a rig i hadn't put the hurt on the body, be it fender bender (i need to move to a more remote area i guess), or trail damage. in the case of my current tacoma, i bought it from a a buddy with a rebuilt title on the cheap, and have done some frame repair and what not, and i know it will never be perfect, but like you said, what the hell, scratches and dings have stories!

I had to cut one of the rack and pinion bolts off because I got in a hurry when the body was off and drove the bolt in the sleeve. OOPS! there was no way out but to cut it, also destroying the polyurethane bushings another $22 for a new rack and pinion kit and we're in business.
The bolt.

rack and pinion is in.

Then I got the frame ready for the body mounts.

The procedure here was:
Cut mounts off of trashed frame, clean them up, bolt to body, set body with mounts on the frame (adjust height as needed), tack in place, remove bolt and jack up body, Burn metal, paint and bolt down.
It took most of the day to get to this point but it's done.
The mount on the old frame.

It's running!

Got some Allpro/bilstein coil overs on it. A new charcoal canister and I'm working on the sliders, frame support.

It's hard to find time these days with school running full tilt and trying to work a part time job. I should have finished 10 years ago:oops:
