I know a lot of the contractors over there lease Hilux trucks and Land cruisers for transportation. With the environment and roads there, not many cars last too long before going back in the shop.

The Hilux were good vehicles. All of them got beat up on the roads and very poor driving skills.
The Spec Ops guys used a Tacoma like Toyota. Very bad ***.

Not TLC specifically, but the idea of a Toyota pickup as a troop carrier or with a gun mounted in the bed became so ubiquitous that it even had a war named after it:

When i was in somalia back 93 the Pakistanis were using toyota pickups for troop transport an patrol vehicles. Nothing special no tactical paint jobs. They all the same color kind purple hued green. Sorry i dont have a picture to share.

That is a cool truck. In this configuration though, the GMVs we used would have been more functional. Tough trucks.

The LC has much more air deployment options,due to narrower track, and easier to squeeze and camouflage in tight places..

And probably quitter.
