TerreStar Genus

A friend tipped me that TerreStar's 3G / Sat / PDA smartphone form factor Genus phone was well received at CTIS, the big wireless trade show in Vegas.

The company quoted $.65 per minute sat time when off the 3G grid.

I haven't researched the device and have no personal experience with it.

The concept looks perfect for North American overlanding applications.

Windows Mobile so you can run apps
SIM card when traveling
Wifi, Bluetooth and a GPS
microSD for memory expansion
camera

and you get sat phone coverage when out of cell range...nice
