Testing the XV-JP. A tour of Baja

Stephanie has just finished wrapping the Fall issue of Overland Journal, so we are off to Baja for a week with a few other EarthRoamer owners and Graham and Connie (with the uber-cool Defender).

We are "easing" into the "dangers" of Mexico...

I have always wanted to spend some time in Baja's wine region, taste some wines and find a winery that would accommodate a few expedition trucks. Adobe Guadeloupe is perfecto!

Off to Ensenada and Mike's Sky Rancho manana!

You live on a ranch? I never knew that. But then again i think the moon is just the back side of the sun.

Have a great trip!

What a trip! I checked out the spot shared page yesterday because Scott mentioned in another thread that he was headed to Mexico shortly.

I zoomed in using satellite imagery and said, "Gee that looks like they're camped at a vineyard."

Neat trip. SPoTs are officially scary now. :)

And now you'll get to test out the heaters in the XV-JP at Laguna Hanson! It was getting down near freezing at night just a few weeks ago. Stay warm and enjoy!!

We are back :)

Viva Mexico!!! With each trip south, I become more enamored by the beauty of Mexico and the quality of it's people. There were almost no other travelers on the route, and businesses are really suffering. I expect this will only be a temporary slump.

Even more impressive is the continued development of the Mexican infrastructure and the general development of the middle class.

I will post more images soon, but for now, here is a shot of the XV-JP in the dunes.

Cool shot Scott. What's the name of the dunes?

Did SPOT end up over there during the photo shoot :hehe: or that it's normal resting place? The Jeep looks good.

My guess would be the Imperial or Algodones Sand Dunes, on his way back to Prescott.
