Tex's 200 Series

What color wheels would you be planning? It looks so clean with the silver now, it would be hard for me to pick a wheel color for that white. Anything but black, please. Part of the fun for me is the planning, good luck with figuring out exactly what you want to do.

Getting the itch for a lift, finally. Finding myself torn between King's and Dobinson's MRR's. Parts are starting to collect. Now to figure out the tire and wheel package.
Any thought on leaning toward Kings since they offer theirs in a 3.0 compared to the Dobinson’s 2.5?

I am exploring the differences at the moment. If I were to go with King's I'd run 3.0's in the front and 2.5's in the rear. The biggest difference I am finding is rebuild interval, the King's need more frequent maintenance.

Just curious, why smaller in the rear? If/when loaded down with camping gear, that’s a good amount of weight to control so I figure the bigger shock the better? I believe Icon has a 3.0 as well for the 200, not sure what their maintenance intervals are though.

Mostly price and the lack of proper shock guards for the 3.0's. This could change, we shall see.

Motor pool Monday, but on a Tuesday lol. I got around to doing my first oil change on the Cruiser myself. I've been wanting to switch over to 5w-30 oil for a while now and I took this chance to get away from the stealership and their crap service as well. I found two missing bolts while removing the skid plates, surprise surprise. This will be my last oil change without a valve in place of the drain plug, holy hell did I have a mess to clean up as the oil bounced out of my pan and all over the back side of the tire and the garage floor. I am no fan of the cartridge style filter either.

Oil pressure seems to be slightly higher at highway speeds but similar to before when idling. I did notice that the drivetrain is quieter altogether now.

Not much to report really. I missed my lift install date a few weeks back due to last minute scheduling conflicts, not sure when I’ll get around to rescheduling it being that I am currently in the throes of the holidays and hunting season(s) now through to the end of February.

I’ll need new tires in the next 10K miles or so, odds are I’ll wait until those need replacement to install the lift and new aftermarket wheels and larger tires likely in the spring. I am currently waiting on skid plates that are on order and I need to order sliders and possibly a front bumper as well. I am leaning towards Dissent for the front bumper but I am considering Slee as well.

By the end of 2023 I hope to have a drawer system and possibly a LRA auxiliary fuel tank installed as well. I am leaning heavily towards Trekboxx for the drawer system but I could be swayed by ADGU or even Goose Gear, I still need to do more research.

The Cruiser is effortless to own and aside from meh fuel economy I have very few complaints. I can’t help but be constantly tempted to trade it in on a new F-250 Tremor but I know that I’d regret that decision in the long run and they are much easier to get ahold of going forward than the 200.

Do you still have the reg cab Ram? Trade that in for a Tremor and keep the Land Cruiser.
