The Adventures of a Land Rover TReK Discovery

As Lance saw, Bobby Curtis (purplepeopleeater) and myself were out on the trails doing a little shakedown run of the TReK.

For the full report, check it out on the front page here. [link]

Fun article, great photos! BTW, for clarification regarding the "57.21 foot overhang of the Discovery II", are you referring to the front, or the rear overhang? Because either would be a possibility... LOL

BTW< thanks for the link to the ARB tent. I hadn't heard of that one. Looks really well made, though I am uncertain of the design. 30 lbs folded up, and you'd need an awning overhead to crawl in an out in the rain.... But the girl the video sure is CUTE!

Haha there's no comparison with the overhangs. This is essentially what they modeled the Disco II after:

The ARB tent is certainly huge, but it's awful nice to have everything set up in about a minute, when you figure the space a tent, 3 inch sleeping pad, and sleeping bag all takes up, it's not too much more I guess.

Valid point on the rain.

Ah mahwah, nj - kinda nearby where i live... i wish i could go seek out the rest of the vehicles in their parking lot, even to just have a glance at them... anything else good in there?

Might want to correct the copy on the main post, "57.21 foot overhang", might have some off road clearance problems.

Free is good, enjoy the Rover.

Scott, I would personally keep it stock in TReK form. Keep the tires, but no lift. These are real capable trucks and really just need a good tire. I know this isn't a CT truck, but it is a special vehicle and I think all special vehicles should stay very close to stock form.

But it's also your truck so do what you want :)

Got to get rid of that rear overhang somehow though, be it lift, bumper, or bigger tires.

Just here...

Don't **** it up.

Echoed. Dont cut, strip, swap, sell, etc... any part of that truck. Its no Camel Trophy (I wouldnt want one of those anyway because they were abused) but it is a special vehicle. The things on it are all you would need to go camping anyway. It doesnt need the usual expo list of 'necessities.'

Oh, and where do I sign up to get a free truck? It doesnt even have to be a special edition.
