The AR-15

How is the eye relief with the scope mounted that far forward? I have a ar with iron sights, and age is playing hell on my eyes.
It's a red dot. Infinite eye relief. That's WAY forward but carry handle will do that to ya

My go to rifle will always be an AK47.

My river/trail gun.

I qualed expert on the M16A2 20+ years ago and never thought I would buy that platform.

My impulse buy from last night, Windham Weaponry 7.62X39 AR platform, basically an original Bushmaster. Ill probably mount my 12" Havoc to it.

Havent shot it yet but it fits well with a ready sling. Ild like a single/2 point sling for it. Ive got flip up iron sights coming and a 42mm red dot on the way. Looking forward to getting it sighted in. I shoot long arms left handed so I hope I dont catch too much brass to the face.

Im impressed with the fit and finish from WW, they where the original Bushmaster after all. I prefer the AK47 but this Windham should get me more range with the same ammo. Comfortable fit out of the box and I have a lot of 7.62 ammo.

ETA: The WW AR is much lighter the my AKs, The AK will still be my go to rifle.

KISS- I love the A1 uppers, too bad they've gotten hard to find and stupid expensive. This is an unknown mock XM177 style upper that's had literally thousands of rounds through it (on an incorrect but inexpensive DPMS A2 lower with an incorrect A2 grip). I've had it since the days when you could buy cases of cheap surplus and bump firing to your heart's content or better yet, put it in a friend's registered M-16 lower. I got tired of friend's making fun of it for not having much finish left on it, it looks much better in that picture than it did in real life, so I Duracoated it OD green but even that's wearing off these days. It usually has an older Israeli sling tied to it Israeli style as well- 550 cord through the front sight and around the buttstock. :)

That's one of the limited run of "Discreet cases" that Eagle industries did in blue. Also a great case.

I just noticed an AR thread on this forum. I own about 20 various AR's in numerous configurations/calibers. Everything from el-cheapo frankenguns, to stupid high-dollar Lambo's. Out of all of them- the most fun one to shoot is my M16. Plain-jane, made in the late 70's but apparently a transitional model, as it has a few A1 features, but marked M16. It is just fun to shoot. With the exception of a few springs, it is all original.

(Second most fun one isn't an AR, it's an M14.)

Windham Weaponry has stepped up and is shipping the rifle to and from Alaska to fix the jamming issue Ive been having.

Just got my Windham Weaponry AR 7.62 back, shoots flawlessly now. Just waiting on the flip up sights and red dot optic to get it sighted in.

I do plan on mounting my 12" Havoc launcher to this.

What's up with the torch mounted on the rack? Just curious as I'm trying to think of what you would do with it mounted. I carry one of the butane type torches that you get from the Asian grocery stores (not the crack pipe style) on occasion to light charcoal and I've used my Bernzomatic in the grill at the house.
