Its fine. Just stand back. Also have an air compressor hooked up and running, otherwise the vacuum created will pop the tire back off.
I haven't had any luck using the air chuck-to-tire-without-valve-core trick to work. Guess I need to modify some things but as mentioned earlier, the ratchet strap solves ALL kinds of problems with that. If nothing else, makes it easier. The big transport ratchet straps can just about squeeze the tire back onto the rim by itself! Well, not really but it looks like it.

Yes. This method works fine. Have used it numerous times, even to mount my own tires. Like anything, you have to be careful. . .

I just got back from ARB Headquarters coming from one job site back to home base.
I was impressed with how small this dual ARB unit was.
I am almost sure I can mount it on the M-Pack SideRack that my Powertank is mounted to.

It's has a very different shape from other compressors. It's sort of a square that is not very thick. But it is heavy. You just have to look at your available space to see if it will work for you.

I have never been anywhere that I have seen one. I would like to see one up close and personal. Does it run off its own belt, or do you use a bigger serpentine belt?

There are a number of threads on D90 Source on them. For a serp belt motor, you would just switch to a larger belt. The compressor typically goes in place of an A/C compressor if you already have one. They're pretty sweet and provide more than enough air to quickly inflate tires, run air tools, and blow dust out. Like an A/C compressor, they have an electric clutch that you could wire to a dash switch.
I've been want one for my truck for a while now but it's several projects back in the queue. The PowerTank just doesn't cut it for the high-volume applications like dust blowing.

I've always reset beads on the trail with some either and a ratchet strap. Then just used the compressor to fill em up. You might could reset them if you had a tank on board, but it's easier to use the small explosion from the either. The worst I've ever seen is singed hair from being too close. It's definitely something that everyone should know how to do out on the trail.

I guess if I was in an emergency, and there was no other way to reseat the bead, I might consider the explosive techniques.
I have been an eye doctor for 35 years, and I have see lots of trauma to the head and neck over the years. That is why I am conservative about things that explode. If something goes wrong, it can go wrong big time.
I can say that I personally don't know anyone who has been hurt using the ether explosion technique. I am wondering if anyone out there knows of anyone harmed by using ether to reseat beads.

I doubt it, either has pretty good volume but since it's not enclosed it's not going to have alot of power. I know some people that use it for potato guns. Once you do it a few times it's alot less of hassle than fighting with a ratchet strap to get a seal good enough to let your air source set the bead. Especially when it's not a 90gallon compressor. I'd say that the either is just slightly more dangerous due to the fire risk than a strong compressor. Whichever method anyone uses I'd always suggest wearing eye pro.
