Welcome! This will be my official build thread of my ambulance campervan

Ok, here's the story. The wife and I are newlyweds living in the tri-state aaaaannnnd....it sucks. So we decided to take a road trip across the U.S. to find a place to settle down.

So, we bought a ambulance. We could have went with an RV but we wanted something on the smaller size that we could get to the areas that a big old RV can't. Plus it was a steal...

The Vehicle: 1995 E-350 MedTec Ambulance. Power plant is a 7.3 Turbo, with 133,000 miles, hours meter reads 1,015.

It needs a bit of work (top end fuel leak, speedo inop, and a erratic trans) but it's gonna be fun. We picked it up on Monday and just started but it's looking great so far. Here are a few shots of the progress so far.

Here's the original craigslist photo

I'll be updating the post ASAP, I already have a ton of questions so I'm hoping some of you guys will be able to help me out.

Im willing to bet that the speedo not working is the the reason the tranny is shifting funny. Had the same problem

That's what I'm thinking, which would be sick. I'd hate to have to put a trans in it. I pulled a code for the Rear Speed Sensor. Swapped out the with a new one....no good. ABS light on, no speedo, and trans is still acting up. I found a good PSOM unit on eBay for 50$. Gonna see if I can get it Cheaper.

UPDATE: I finally got the front light bar removed. What a PITA! One of the plastic mounting brackets were cracked so I just cut it off. Fortunately they can still be reused so I'll be cleaning everything up and it will be for sale. PM me if interested.

I had to disassemble the connectors to pull them through the body. I just tapped them off and secured them inside the box as I'll be reusing the wiring for more lighting later on down the road.
Spot light(I'll be remounting later.)

The AL-You-Mini-Uhm brackets that held up the front light bar....you interested in selling those revoltingly cheap? I'd be interested in paying a ridiculously small sum of money for 'em. And I'll give you the secret code to get into my ambo build thread...for free!

What is the "Tri-State"? There are dozens of places that are called this.

That's the place Proessor Doofenschmirtz has been trying to take over for ages. Perry the Platypus keeps shuttin him down though. Dont blame them for wantin to move out. All the constant fighting must get old.

If you are looking for clear lenses for your lights. I had good luck on elightbars.org it is a forum for emergency equipment..
