The gap around the bodywork is typical of all the bolt-on bumpers I've seen

Yup I now see the gaps, even in photos of other bumpers. An interesting thought regardless for those considering aftermarket bumpers. I figure its a good thing for that reason exactly. Would rather damage the bumper and not have it intrude into bodywork or lights. :)

Sell me the ARB front you're so unhappy with! Buy a TR!

Do you notice the extra weight of the new rear bumper? I'm just about to order mine and am vacillating between the Kaymar and TR.

Not really. If I was more aggressive accelerating from stops I might notice.

Love the spare tire cover, and the rest of the bumper. Truck looks sharp.

I've been considering getting a Kightsbridge tire cover for my rear tire to add some storage onto the truck for straps and such externally, regardless seeing the cover on yours makes me think I may go that way even if its not a high dollar cover.

Looks great Connor. Sorry you had so much trouble with the fit. Mine went right on and the front gave me a bit of trouble but I attribute that do doing it alone.

Love the M&M cover......can't wait to get my spare hanging one day.

TR rear bumper w/swingout pt II

Latching mechanism, funky to get used to, works OK. No issues yet, done maybe 500 miles so far on the highways here.

I've got the TR rear bumper (front too) and the swing out arm is supposed to rest on Top of the plastic block and the adjustable latching u-bolt should be straight up and down. I've wheeled plenty off-road both here in MN and in Moab and have never had it accidentally release. Just make sure the security pin is properly seated before you drive away.

Thanks Ray! Man I was just looking at the KB after you mentioned it... those are pricey!

Ah I figured it would need some adjusting, looks like I just drew the short straw on this one... ha thanks :)

Very glad I had one thrown in with my order... covers up my scratched-up spare.

Thank you for the tip Nels! Here's me looking like a dummy ;)

How did I not see that? Been driving around for a week with it latched incorrectly... went out and fixed it. Makes so much sense now

They are def not cheap for seat covers nor the tire cover-that said great reputation (caveat I am friends with the previous owner of what was then Kexby). In the end I decided to just get a temp tire cover since in truth I'd probably throw a trasharoo on the back for storage. Now I'm waiting for my graphics to show up so that it isn't just black but I'll update that on my thread later.

Very much like the latching mechanism you have. Far more elegant than my Dubai special....

I'm not unhappy enough to drop $1500+ to replace it! Besides, you don't want my bumper...your truck is too nice looking for my old trail bashed stuff. :)

BTW, if you've been on the NCLR site recently you'll see a group of us are doing Signal Peak again Saturday. You should come along! We'll have at least 2 LR3s in the group.

I'll be offloading my beautiful TR front bumper once I figure out my aluminum design. It'll be posted on here first for all you loyal LR lovers.

I'll try not to bash it up too bad. Haha

Ooo custom graphics... :)

As for the latch, yeah neat little design. The little spring-loaded pin that keeps the handle from flipping up and releasing tension I do wonder about. But several people here use this bumper and I have only seen one swingout unlatch, didn't see if it was user error at the time.

You got me there... I got in on the small group buy Alyson set up... ARB on its way :)

Aw man! The one weekend I'll be in San Luis Obispo! This nice looking truck needs to start heading off-piste again... I for one am still rooting for a Lost Coast revisit this season.

Dang! Are you going to emulate the bull bar design or something lower profile? Someone in Hawaii is gonna want your TR. ;)

See my build thread, I put the reasoning there! If nobody buys the TR here, I'll cut a great deal with shipping back to the mainland to someone who will get a lot of great life from it......hopefully it'll be the west coast! hahaha
