I know a few billionaires.
Little cash has always been a problem, they have almost everything leveraged to the hilt.
Yup. Money is only useful if it's moving. Money sitting still is just paper.

On the other hand, 75k is petty cash for a multi-billionare. It's like normal people carrying a $20.
That’s why I inserted that (relative) in there. And the percentage of cash on hand will get lower and lower as net worth goes up.
Example: $1 million net worth and you might keep $100-200k in the bank or in a money market fund.
$1 billion net worth probably can’t cut a check for $100 million.

Take away the billions in subsidies that Tesla has gotten and none of that would be possible.
Now that you don't get a tax credit for buying a Tesla...their sales have dropped.
Most nay sayers get their pantys in a twist when people buy non American stuff too. Funny how Tesla started out selling Mercedes last yr and you don’t see these people whining about the tax deals cut with Mercedes to get their plant in Alabama.Tesla delivered 97000 cars last quarter and is gonna deliver more this quarter.
For people that dont need a truck Their cars are the best deal going right now even without the tax credit.
They’re gonna be around a while.

Once you have enough for emergencies, excess cash loses value every day. Holding it is useless. It’s an asset that should be deployed to do something. Hire people, invest in businesses, or just buy stuff or experiences to make your life more enjoyable.
You will never find someone with a high net worth that just has a (relative) ton of cash on hand and not working somehow.

You think Mercedes hasn’t received US gov money? Really? Most of us don’t care what Alabama does with Alabama’s money.
I do care what the Federal Government does with MY money. They invested in a company that can’t turn a profit. It’s a bad investment.

Drop in the Bucket.
If your angry about US GOV assisting companies you need to open your eyes and look at ALL companies. Then ask your self this. Do other Countries help their companies? Even provide spies to steal data and technology from US companies? The answer is yes! Yes there are Governments that actually fund corporate spies.
So is it wrong that the US people represented by our GOV not help major employers? Do you really think our US Companies can compete with Chinese GOV backed companies with no US GOV support?
I'm not an American, and I'm from a small country. We don't have much of a car industry here (to put it lightly). Not necessarily disagreeing with you. Most nay sayers get their pantys in a twist when people buy non American stuff too.
