OK, "The Grey" has been on his first offroad run - once again in the french/italian alps. There should be some text and more photos in one of the upcoming JP Freek issues, but here some shots of the rig in a very nice surrounding...

No problems with the rig so far, the suspension, the dual battery setup w/ the cooler (aka "cold beer device") and the roof top tent worked flawlessly.

Looks awesome Jan...
Two questions,
Any idea what kind of plane that is in the pic?
And is your RTT mounted backwards??

To finally answer your questions (sorry for taking that long!):
  • Nope, RTT isn´t mounted backwards, but have to tweak the mounts a bit (clearance to roof vs. camping table beneath the rack vs. length of the RTT vs. length of rack)
  • That´s a Dassault 312, two V12 engines, 1160 horses, 380km/h, one of 40 pcs. built for the french army and used from 1948-1969

They should run you around 1100$ in the US, don´t know if there´s any preferred reseller here on ExPo. It´s a product made in the US, otherwise I´d gladly offer a forums discount from the 4x4 shop I work for, but I don´t think it make any sense shipping them back over the pond.

Wow 1100 is alot to drop on head lights. Maybe 1 day when I'm not so broke lol.

Dude! I just woke up and saw this and..... WOW! Jeep Porn extreme! ;) That's looking freakin' awesome!
Do you have a component break down for the rear battery and a wiring diagram for where it all goes??
