The LandCruiser Project is officially a go !!!!........

I had a very productive day, I took off the original tray fitted by the dealer and then trial fitted the subframe I built for my overland camper.

It was a long day and hard work but very rewarding milestone in my build.

The subframe fit really well and I am completing the fit out of the subframe ready for it to go to the powder coater for surface treatment.

once this portion of the build is complete I can start making the walls of the camper.......

I have made some great progress since my last update.

The subframe is now finished and fitted to the truck.

I am starting the fabrication of the pop top roof and the sandwich panels for the cabin are ordered.

Watch my build series to date on YouTube.

I have started to install the Safari Armax Snorkel.

What is/was wrong with the OEM snorkel? I'd think you have enough on your plate with the whole build to have left that alone? I'm also curious about your tyre choice. Will the BFG ATs work well enough in the wet? I'm guessing that at some point the Tele track or similar will cross your mind if you head east. Some of those creek crossings might be a challenge for the ATs.

I have completed the fabrication of the pop up frame and mechanism.

The frame is ready to have the canvas walls and the roof panel.

The sandwich body panels are being manufactured and should be ready in 2 weeks.

Watch my latest YouTube video of the Pop Top below.

Enjoy

The latest development in my Landcruiser overland build is the install of the ARB Frontier fuel tank.

The install was pretty easy and it is a well made product.

I will now have a extended range for overland travel.

Watch the video on the install, I have even converted units for those using imperial units lol 

Exciting news !!!!

The composite sandwich panels I had made have arrived.

Lightweight and very strong, they will form the main structure of the living cabin.

Made by a company in Queensland called Vanglass the quality on first impressions is very good.

watch my crate unpacking to get and idea of the size of the cabin and how the panels came supplied.

The Camper project is gathering pace with materials arriving.

I received the sandwich panels last week and now I am starting to assemble the living module.

I spent several hours stating to prepare the joints and getting the panels ready and doing a trial fit for the cabin panels.
