Very impressive build,
Where and when are you thinking of starting your travels?
I'm leaving on June 1 2018, then heading out to Coober Pedy, via Great Central road, then Darwin, Cape York etc.
Might see you out there,
Dean

Hey Dean,
I am planning on leaving around October, I will probably transition to living in the camper mid 2018 after a few trips to iron out any wrinkles.

If you fancy catching up for a beer I am in Kensington / Vic Park.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

I had a very productive 3 days installing all of the main electrical items in the camper and cabling for other items yet to be installed.

I am very satisfied with the progress that is being done, I am well ahead of schedule.

Very cool build! I like how well thought out your plans seem to be. I am interested in your pop top design, it is something I've considered on my Suburban, although it seems extreme to cut a hole in my roof. More likely is to use a setup like yours on a cargo trailer converted to a camper. I have a family of 5 and the pop top would allow for additional bunks up top.

Do you have any more details on the materials used- specifically, what type of extrusion, the sprung lift hinges, and what attachment methods you used for the extrusion to the main structure? The springs seem like a very simple and affordable option as compared to lift struts.

I'll be looking forward to more updates, nice work so far.

Hi Mike. Loving the build. I have the same (or 99.9% identical) windows in my Northern Lite camper. Just FYI, I've had issues with flys and mosquitoes managing to get around the fly screens and into the camper. It seems like they can find their way around the edges of the screen in the track it slides up and down in, or around the rollers at top and bottom. My windows were manufactured in Germany by Seitz, but sold under the Dometic name here in Canada. It's not every bug that gets in, but some are apparently more resourceful and pull it off. With the upper screens, it shouldn't be a big deal for you to keep the windows closed though and still get all the breeze you'd ever need.

Happy New year everyone.

The camper body is coming along very well and I am now getting ready to do the plumbing install and the construction of the cabinets.

I have posted up a New Year message and my plans for the build and the channel coming up along with some teaser photos.

Enjoy !!!

I bought the extrusions here in Australia the hardware is readily available in Australia and online.

All the structure is bonded with construction adhesive and rivets in high stress areas.

If you want any specific info please PM me.

The last few weeks have been very busy on the overland camper project.

I have started the fit out of the interior with the furniture frame work built out of aluminium box section.

I have been getting the plumbing system including the hot water system installed.

There are several new YouTube videos to bring everyone up to speed with progress.

The build is getting close to the finish line to a usable camper.:wings:

Hi all, sorry for the delay in uploading a progress update.

I have been working very hard on getting the fit-out completed.

The electrical and water systems are fully working, including the hot water system.

The key furniture items are finished and the soft furnishings are ordered and should be ready very soon.

I will be lifting the camper module on to the back of the LandCruiser very soon so please keep watching this space.

In the meantime enjoy my latest instalment.

The camper build is drawing to a close, this is the milestone video everyone has been waiting for!!

The big lift went according to plan and I had no problems at all and the camper fits beautifully.

I am so please with the result an it looks awesome, getting lots of admiring glances on the road.

I just spotted your build thread, looking good well done.
I'm interested in what the weight of the whole thing has ended up when finished. How is it going for the first camping test trips.
