A riveting read, it has inspired me to take a trip up there , where can i find the location of the lost trains? DO you have gps co ordinates for it? Thanks!

After this inspiring trip report and hearing from it from alot of friends I decided to check out the NMW trains before moving to FL over the summer. Rough estimate for you is N46 19.432' and W69 22.730'. I used the pics in this report to navigate really, they were spot on. Just keep in mind nothing is really marked because the state of maine does not want people treking into there, but they don't enforce it either. Its quite easy on sled as well just go down the lake. Check out a Maine gazetteer for Chamberlain Lake/ hog island (map 55 in mine). Hope this helps, the trains are an amazing site. And thank you again epicxcrider for this amazing post!!!!!!

Not exactly sure how I stumbled upon this thread, but this is one of the best expediton recaps I have ever read. Have you done anything this year or plans for another northern trip anytime soon?
