Yay redo of the electrical compartment. This is easy though. Interior dimensions just to keep is simple for me is 21x21x12. It will be a snug-ish fit as the batteries are a combined 20.5x19x9.5. I will basically build a lidded plywood box, and route the wire to the one open side that will have basically 2" to spare. Slot the box so that I can use a ratchet strap to secure the batteries down... And use a 3/4" plywood lid, where I will mount the 12V output circuit goodies...

Guess I need to go grab some plywood from the BORG tomorrow (Big Orange Retail Giant).

We gotta get this project MOVING!

So my biggest issue with the profile on the electrical cabinet has to do with where the truck bed floor basically pushes up to clear the gas filler spout between the rear wheel well and the front of the bed. I am doing an enclosed box and I think I came up to a forehead slapping stupid solution. Just put the bottom up on 2x2 pine risers. which would provide more than enough support...

So.... Can anyone in Houston metro recommend a RELIABLE mechanic that is willing to take on an engine swap project for a Ford 5.4L 3V that was started but not finished. I need to start looking at options here...

So sending a wrecker to pick up my truck, and the parts I already paid for and are unreturnable. Notably the crate motor, injectors, and brake parts.

Wrecker scheduled, I need to be out there around noon tomorrow, get all our ducks in a row so the wrecker can just come in, grab the truck and go... We are going to take it to a friends place that has a concrete slab, and no HOA...

Plan is on Sunday I crawl under it, and start spinning wrenches on the torque converter, disconnect the cats and O2 sensors, and generally speaking start disconnecting everything that needs to be disconnected... Assuming we got the engine from the mechanics storage unit. If not, we go fetch that, and have a few beers instead...

I am sick right now, but still going to power though this, if for no other reason than to show up the guy that took the job and did next to nothing...

ok I just re read the last page. I thought your rig was just a injector and a inspection away from being road worthy, what happened or did I miss something?

Yes, the mechanic lied through his teeth. I am having to do the job myself and pray I can figure out where the parts he removed actually go...

Are you healthy yet?

Working on it. Stress, poor diet due to not wanting to cook my own meals due to stress, and age have given me an issue that is going to take some time to sort out... Mostly better but doc says no lifting for a while...
