Hey, I just wanted to let you know this is one of the best build treads I have seen. I don't know that you could ever come up with a better combo than what you are putting together. I would love to drive over the hill sometime to see it.

Thanks! As per the post I just made though, not much to look at right now. Once the build is in full swing you are welcome to stop by. In fact you are welcome now just nothing to really look at with this project.

Cheers

Where are you sourcing the floor and headliner?

Australia is the only place to get the floor as far as I know. MAF & Specter I think used to sell it in the US, imported from Australia. Specter has the headliner, in kit form, not super cheap but they got it. Last time I checked, the vinyl floor was on Ebay Australia. If you don't see 60-series on there search 70-series and contact seller with interest in one for 60-series. A little gumshoe goes a long ways! :)

Can't believe I've missed this for so long. I've got two SD33Ts...one in each of my scouts. Everything looks good. If you need anything engine wise let me know, I've made some contacts over the years.

I actually need the plate at the back of the engine and the bellhousing from a Scout. The Patrol stuff is different.

I bought my SD33T to NV4500 kit from IHonly and have also got a quote from them on a new NV4500 (with my kit fitted) and an Atlas behind that plus all the stuff from the back of the Scout SD33T engine. Plus I get a performance Chevy clutch in the deal. I could probably save $500+ if I didn't buy from IHonly but they can set me up with a complete package ready to bolt in. And I like the guys at IHonly too. So I am probably just going this route. It is not a cheap purchase though and it is all that is holding me up!

Building a sweet engine stand lately for the diesel. I kept the front frame from the donar truck when I cut it up and scrapped it last winter. Welded some legs on it recently so I can have a stand that I can run the engine in. Eventually I would like to put some wheels on the stand. I pop'ed a freeze plug in the head on the new motor last September when we had an early 15 degree night about mid-month. I have since tore the motor down, flushed it with 5 gallons of oil (!), turned it over by hand 100x, replaced the freeze plug and am waiting on some gaskets I ordered to button it back up. I also have a used set of steel injector lines in route, the ones on the motor are corroded and have polluted my injectors. Hoping the used replacement set will be clean. Fixed a weeping seal on my custom oil drive. Just took some locktight on the bolt for the pulley. I would call all this initial break in and working out of quirks with more to come!

Just working a butt load lately but am wanting to put more hours into the project, should have more free time next month.

Cheers

I have been super busy with work the last 3 months. Over the holiday weekend I scored a really good job. I am a contractor so a big job is good for me!

All this means cash flowage is becoming available for the project. Soon I am planning to buy a number of things I need for the project, not sure exactly how much right now but coilovers, rear shocks, new housing for front axle, trans & t-case are all top priority.

Pretty stoked!! :D

Great news! I can't wait for this to get going again. I was thinking about starting a pool that all the exo people could donate to so you could get this going again.

Thanks!

A month or so ago when I started building the engine stand I was playing around with my shock towers. These are RuffStuff 12" towers. I just have them set on the frame, which is from the donor truck, aka an 84 Patrol. But keep in mind the 80-series Cruiser chassis is within 1/2" of width of these frame rails. I think they are going to work the treat! :)

NV4500 and Atlas t-case are in route! Both are brand new, been a long time coming...

The NV4500 is a 95+ GM.

The Atlas I ordered with 3.0 gears, HD front output, 1350 yokes and electronic speedo.

Pretty stoked!

All I need now to start building is some suspension junk, Scout SD33T bellhousing, clutch and some fab bits.

Cheers

While I want to see this progress because I love it, I also want it to take a while so I can spare the cash for your V8 80 series!
