I had thought about it but it does lock into place pretty well. I am going to put a pin through the slide to keep it from rolling forward when not wanted.

Yeah, I can't really tell from the photo so I don't know if it wants to rock from side to side, I have just seen people anchor them down to their slide to prevent side to side roll or even weakening the slide.
