Seems like everyone enjoys a little show and tell around here so here goes.

As it stands today.

C8.25 29sp. w/ NoSlip Locker, HP D30 w/ Aussie Locker, 4:10 gearing.
31x10.50 ATs for street, 34x10.50 LTBs for offroad, 15x8 Steelies for both.
Custom Drive Shafts front & rear.
6.25'' Lift, Drop Brackets W/ RE Superflex LCAs, Homemade Adj. UCAs w/ Johnny Joint. DPG 5.5" Springs front & rear, 1.5" Boomerang Shackles and Front Spring Spacers JKS Quicker Discos, JKS Adj Track Bar, JKS ChroMo Tierod, GoForIt Tierod Flip Bushing. Bilstein 5150 Front & 5100 Rear Shocks w/ Homemade Upper Shock Adapters , BPEs & Limit Straps.
Fancy Homemade Front Bumper, Rock Sliders, TC Skid, Frame Stiffeners, Track Bar Mount & Diff Guards.

There's more but that's a pretty good idea of where it stands. I fabricate everything myself because it's cheaper and I can say "I did that.". It is driven daily and is very capable on the trail & in the rocks. My wife and I get a lot of enjoyment out of the XJ and the Club we run with. We do plan to do MOAB & some Colorado Rockies in the next couple years.

Here's a few shots of the Fab. work.

Nice rig..

Now tell me about the lower BPE's, specifically the bolt running through them attaching the limiting strap. Are these homefab or JKS?

They are basicly a copy of the JKS pieces with the addition of the threaded extension. I wanted a mounting point at the shocks so that the straps would keep the shocks from being the limiting factor in suspension droop without affecting travel in any other way. The idea worked out very well. The BPEs are made entirely of 316L grade Stainless Steel. The threaded pin is a piece of .625'' round bar with a .5'' threaded section. All the holes were line bored undersize and then reamed slightly oversize to insure a tight fit. .3125'' Grade 8 bolts are used to mount them.

All my goodies are homefab. I added the threaded end to typical designs to provide a place to mount the limiting straps.

Let me add a little to that.

Thats what i figured. Was hoping someone was offering these. I need to add straps and this is the way i would go as well, sure makes it easy to order strap length when you know your shock extended length.

Nice work Sir.

I believe the JKS pieces use a .625'' pin as well. You could have a pin made locally that would provide the threaded end pretty cheap. If you want I could provide some.

a smurf of inspiration! How long are your limit straps? I was going to look into those since I plan on catching a wee bit of Jeepspeed air ;)

I made them 1/4 - 3/8'' shorter than the fully extended shocks which are 26". Mounted shock eye to eye as they are that's what they needed to be. People mount them different ways and that will determine how long to make the straps. Just long enough to keep your shocks from being the limiting factor in suspension extension is generally the goal.

I don't do any jumping and would probably look at a stronger way to anchor the straps if I did. Having all the unsprung weight in any vehicle slamming against the straps and mounts will generate a lot of shock.
