Here's some project shots.

All sanded and taped up.

One side all painted. Cat insisted on hanging with me. Think she got high off paint fumes!

Other side. you can see how t blends with the truck.

Tomorrow I'll get some nuts and bolts and post a pic of it mounted up! Also wire some lights on it!

Cool

I bought an 83 once to find the frame was garbage. Cab was perfect and had a title, shoulda bought a frame for it and salvaged it but I already had too many projects. Great truck, glad you have it.

Got the shell on. Fits good and looks good. Bought the shell for $20, paint and supplies cost $30, not bad for $50!

Also bought a CD player off amazon. Amazing how cheap these are now with all the extras come with (USB post, AUX port, ect). Cost me $46. I have 6.5" crossovers from another project that I will install in the doors. Should sound better than the 31 year old speaker/stereo!

That shell looks great, perfect match to the truck. Any plans for the inside of the shell for sleeping or storage?

Oh well I didn't know they came with a template. Heck what have I been waiting for? Lol. The wiring is no problem.

Do you just pretty much screw the speakers straight into the door?

Thanks! Sure do! Plans will be simple and light. Thinking about a sheet of ply wood framed up to stand above the wheel wells, have storage underneath. I was thinking of a piano hinge in the middle of the ply wood that would allow half to flop onto of the other half to allow for more storage and easy removal, if that makes sense. This will probably be the next project after the stereo.

Ok I've been going over and over on what suspension to put on this truck. I may be over thinking all this, and probably in reality just install the OME lift and have fun, but as I look at more trucks like mine and the crazy flex they can get, I rethink my plans. But I thought why not have both? OME springs with good flex and low lift height.

I emailed lowrange and asked if their universal 13" shocks hoops would work with the OME lift. They said yes. So I'm thinking using the OME springs up front with the shock hoops and 12" Bilstein 5125 shocks. This, I'm hoping will yield me more travel up front to help match the rear when I do the chevy 63s. Any input? Think it might be overkill? Trying to get more opinions. Thanks!

Here's a link for the hoops

I've already bought the springs and I still question myself. Yesterday I was fully convinced I should have done RUF and 63s. Lol

I'm gonna try to get good flex out my OME. I'm very interested to see if the shop hoops can give more flex.

Around here too much flex can actually be bad sometimes because we have a lot of steep rocky hill climbs and it can cause your rig to bounce. Saw two Jeeps go up the same hill yesterday, one had long arms and 35s and it bounced up the trail. The other had like a budget boost and maybe 32s and it stayed planted better. I just want decent flex.
