The SWR....is going to need new tires soon.

I have about 10,000 miles left on my good old trusty Cooper All Terrains. I have Loved them!

I'm starting to look around at tires. Today I stopped at my local Firestone Tire shop and looked at the Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo. They wanted $197 per tire! Less a $100 Visa debit card credit. That's Over $1,000 Installed!!!! YIKES!:Wow1:

I came home and did an online search for the same tire and found it at Discount Tire for $142.00 Each....!

Please help give your advice on a good tire for the SWR.

Would it be a good idea to go up to a 32" tire.....for that extra 1/2 inch ground clearance? Would a 32" Tire fit well?

What would you buy?

My Cooper All Terrains in Action.

They don't even make them like this anymore!

I couldn't even replace one if I wanted to!

I'd keep stock 31's on the SWR and shop around... you can find good deals on Revo's or other good AT tires.

Redline (James) is who I would pitch any specific tire shopping questions to, he always seems to find the good deals ;)

I have the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's and I really like them. The present set have 41,000 miles on them. (31 x 10.50 x 15) I expect to get 60,000 plus out of them.

I bought them at Discount tire and they have rotated and balance them for free about every 3,000 miles.

They do well in all kinds of terrain except mud and maybe hard core rock climbing, but I don't do mud or hard core stuff. They have been on the Mojave Road, all over the back country of California/Nevada and on the Alaska/Canada back roads.

Oh and they are a supper quiet tire.

I ran 265/75 Revos for awhile a few years ago, really smooth/quiet ($429 Costco with bridgestone $100 off special).

I liked my nitto terra grapplers, would buy again. I wish they still made the old style Geolanders, always wanted to try those.

Firestone Destination A/T's chunk like a ******** at the end of their lifespan.

I find that onlinetires.com has some really good pricing.

I would suggest some General Grabber AT2's to you. I had them in the 31x10.50-15 size on my 93 Jeep Cherokee and really liked them. Online Tires has them for $107 a tire.

If you want something a bit more aggressive, I have been very happy with my BFG MT KM2's.

treadwright.

Kellmoe runs them. I ran them on two rigs including an 87 4runner that was arb'd, snorkeled, etc.

very good value and they are safe, I assure you.

I might as well throw in another vote for the General Grabber AT2s. I'm very pleased with their performance. Tar, snow, mud, water, rock, wallet, its all good.

I've had the Geolanders on my past and present 4runner and I have no complaints about them. Taken them though snow, mud, sand and rock srewn trails with a problem.

The Nitto Terra Grapplers are a good value. Good price point, aggressive for an AT, well built, yadda yadda yadda. They're probably one of the least expensive of any moderately-well-known brand. BFG ATs are more than 25% steeper in price. You might price out the Firestone Destination AT, Toyo Open Country AT, ProComp Xtreme AT, Cooper Discoverer ST & ATR...

Toyo Open Country AT.
Installed 2nd set on the Tacoma yesterday.
We have a mixed bag of weather conditions here in the PacNW, both on/off
road. As far as AT's go, I've been very impressed all around.
At 30k+ the tread was still so good on this 1st set, we swapped them over to the Xterra for hopefully another 20-30k+.

Redline seems to be working on the "bible" of tires. It would probably be easier for him to list what he hasn't tried. I'd trust his input on this subject.

Shop Ebay.com and use the Bing.com cashback rewards. Right now it's at 8% but if you watch it will go up to 13-15% or more at times. I would go with the Hankook RF10 ATm tires! I had them on two of my previous trucks and loved them! Awesome for handling and they wore pretty well too on a 3/4 ton truck. I'm sure your light vehicle would hardly make a dent in them at all.

Set of 4 31-10.5-15 6ply - $565.00
CA Extra shipping - $30.00
$595.00-8%($47.60)= $547.40
Total per tire shipped $136.85
