The TARDIS - A Four Wheel Camper Build

Nathanael, you seem like the kind of guy who would keep your propane box nice and small...

But that is tough if you connect a regulator (two-stage especially) directly to the tank. Did you do that, or are you using something like a pigtail between the tank and regulator?

Thanks!

Edited to say:

If you're wondering what I'm asking above... I mean that in this picture below you'd have to have your propane compartment extend towards the back of the camper quite a bit (assuming you keep the propane tank opening/valve pointing towards the rear). You've got to screw in a fitting, have the regulator, and have a little hose coming out of there horizontally, and that'd take up a bunch of space. If you just use a foot or two pigtail, you can mount the regulator somewhere else in your compartment so it doesn't all have to come out in a straight line.

Hope that helps...

I though that I've been fairly vigilant following this build up, but I guess I missed why the cut outs on the boxes' top & over the propane tank. even though it could be a weight saving concession, wouldn't the solid surface be somewhat useful? and safer going up, down, all around?

thanks

Yes, I am using a wall mounted regulator.

From the tank there is a line that runs to the wall, where the regulator - solenoid - valves - and tees are mounted. Keeps things nice and compact, more vibration resistant, and makes removing the tank for refill easier.

The quoted photo is from last year during the beginning of the interior build. The openings in the countertop are for the sink and hob.

They seem to do the least damage to electronics and leave minimal residue. Perfect for inside a camper or truck cab. Also, puts out most types of fires.

Hey Nathanael, excellent build!
What was the fire extinguisher mount sold as? The cut offs almost look like drink holders.

Halon extinguishers I assume, that is what I use.

No, just the Tundra fire extinguisher. They are lighter and easier to store than a regular extinguisher. I also have a few of them spread about the rig, so there is always one within an arms reach, literally.

I would be interested to know what Halon you are using. They are quite pricy correct? (But so is a fire that is not extinguished properly.)

Fire Extinguisher Rack

Was able to mount the fire extinguisher rack/shelf.

Looks like it will work good, but the canisters are ugly as sin. Most likely will wrap them in foil tape, or something to tone them down a little. (The corners and edges of the interior still need trim!)

Also finally mounted the level to help fine tune camp setup. I have found I like a nice level camper for sleeping, given that I can not roll up against the soft sides. That is one thing that I would really like about having a hard sided camper, being able to roll up against the wall while sleeping. Must be something I have gotten used to while sleeping on a rocking boat.

I'm with you, I really like a level sleeping platform and don't mind taking the time to make it 'right' when I park. Head up and feet a little low is okay, but I like side-to-side level.

Nice work as always N.
